I could be wrong but this is how it may have happened. Ted picked her up and threw her over the bridge…the car was sitting by the side of the road and because Ted was thinking so fast he forgot to put on the parking brake and the car slipped out of gear and started to roll down the hill into the river. Ted turned to Jane and said there’s only one way for us to get out of this mess…I’ll walk home, wait a couple of hours then call the police. I won’t mention to the police or the media that we are in love or that you were with me when we left the party. You go the other way back to the party and hook up with that guy who owns CNN television. If anyone asks who you were with, just say Ted.
