That's Me Today

My sitting is breaking my heart, humdrum
My standing is answering your questions, huh
My room is my life with walls and monitors, radiation
My truck is missing my family already

Going to Texas soon or later
i'll pick you up in Arizona, in and out
We'll pretend another vacation
On the go, always on the go
What about the Grand Canyon, no, no, no

Weeks away I watch over finances, spinning wheels
Count losses and invisible coins again
Ahead of the curve, the roads not in sight
crossing my fingers, another quart of oil

I'm ok really, and relaxed, Oklahoma skys ahead
retirement is not a breezy drink, no umbrella please
but i try to put effort into my slack
when everything is nothing, new

Hi ho hi ho
Whistle while you never work again
I quit the chain gang to be a one man army
for free
thats me
got nothing to lose
when you already lost and found the answer
it really just a matter of time
