Goodness Arrives

past forest racetrack speedway
in my new electric chariot
singing at the top of my range
but still able to remember
your eyes
when the tears from heaven
showered and fell
like rain on a warm spring morning
holding your hand
as we walked the gravel road
with our daughter
notice she let go of the leash
the puppy ran
ahead and tumbled in the grass
while he was trying to bite his tail

you smiled at me
and I sighed
a moment of perfection
on the roadtrip of the first summer
not a slave to a career
marked by endless hours
of mental commitment
as my brain created a living for my employees
all who had lives and families
and laughs
and cheers
